"My officials have continued to monitor developments in the postal dispute today.
"I understand that, this afternoon, IO Systems and the Communications Workers' Union (CWU) have agreed to revert to the pre-dispute situation, pending the conclusion of the mediation process being conducted by Mr Phil Flynn.
"I understand this means that the CWU will suspend industrial action at IO Systems, and that all employees will be returned to the payroll while talks continue.
"I understand that An Post will be in a position to resume collection and processing of mail as early as tomorrow.
"On Friday, and again this morning, I called on the parties to focus their efforts on finding a resolution that quickly ends the disruption to postal services. I welcome the progress that has now been made and I hope that the parties will reach a speedy resolution of all the matters in dispute."
