Wellington, New Zealand, 12 March 2015

Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, Alex White TD, today approved the launch of a Public Appointments Service process to find the next Chair of the ESB.

Minister White said: “The Public Appointments Service process for board appointments, adopted by the Government last year, is a transparent process that allows everyone the opportunity to put themselves forward for consideration.”

The ESB group of companies plays an important role in the Irish energy market, from generation through to retail energy supply. ESB also has an international presence in the UK energy market and ESB International is a leading global engineering consultancy specialising in the utility sector.

The new Chair will be tasked with steering the organisation through a period of change as Irish and international energy markets evolve. Candidates with extensive senior management and board experience are being sought.

People interested in the role, most recently undertaken by Lochlann Quinn, can get more information and register on stateboards.ie to submit an expression of interest.
