The National Digital Research Centre (NDRC) was established in 2007 by UCD, TCD, DCU, IADT & NCAD and operates under a concession agreement with the Minister.
NDRC's mission is to create globally scalable companies in the digital sector. NDRC invests at a very early stage using an accelerator model. It provides modest amounts of capital and high amounts of hands-on support to young Irish companies.
NDRC is recognised as a leader in this area. It was ranked as the no. 2 University Business Accelerator in the world in the UBI Global Index 2015.
By the end of 2015, NDRC reported its portfolio companies secured €125 million in cumulative follow-on investment. The cumulative enterprise value of its portfolio was valued at €328m, an increase of almost 50% on 2014. It also estimates that its portfolio has created more than 540 full-time jobs in Ireland.
