Held to mark the launch of the LIFE 2019 Call for project proposals, the 2019 LIFE Information Day highlighted opportunities for applicants in Ireland to apply for European Union funding for projects relating to environmental protection, nature, and climate action. The objectives of the LIFE Programme and the structure and schedule of the 2019 Call were presented, along with what we learned from the first year of the two-stage application process for the Environment sub-programme, introduced in 2018.
Potential applicants heard very useful advice regarding submitting a LIFE application and, when successful, implementing a LIFE project from three very different current or recent Irish LIFE projects: LIFE EcoSens Aquamonitrix, The Living Bog and AranLIFE.
A Senior Project Adviser from the EU Commission presented the Climate Action sub-programme, including policy areas prioritised in 2019 under the Climate Change Mitigation, Climate Change Adaptation, and Climate Governance & Information priority areas. Proceedings concluded with a question and answer session, which generated an interesting discussion. The presentations from the day can be viewed and downloaded by clicking on the links below.
For presentations relating to another two current/recent Irish LIFE projects, more guidance on applying under the current 2018-2020 work programme, and information about Close to Market projects, please also see our 2018 LIFE Information Day webpage.
