Convention on Nuclear Safety Ireland Report 2007

The Convention on Nuclear Safety was adopted on 17 June 1994. Its aim is to legally commit participating States operating land-based nuclear power plants to maintain a high level of safety by setting international benchmarks to which States would subscribe.

Review meetings of Contracting Parties take place every 3 years. Each Contracting Party is required to submit a national report to each review meeting that addresses measures taken to implement each of the obligations of the Convention.
