This 2008 report, prepared by Purvin & Gertz Inc. and Byrne O'Cleirigh, examined key factors in the structure and operation of the Irish oil market (small scale market, lack of indigenous oil production and Ireland’s peripherality from oil producer countries, oil hubs and oil pipelines) and made recommendations concerning the security of Ireland’s access to commercial oil supplies.
