The National Broadband Plan team was delighted to attend this year's National Ploughing Championships at Screggan, Tullamore in September.
The Ploughing is Europe's largest outdoor exhibition and agricultural trade show.
The National Broadband Plan stands were part of the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment's marquee, showcasing the policies and initiatives across the Department and our agencies under the theme of Sustainable Communities.
We were pleased to meet the many visitors, from all parts of the country, who took the time to visit our stand and to tell us how they use broadband. We demonstrated the High Speed Broadband Map to visitors so they could find out how they can get a high a speed broadband service at their home or business.
On Thursday 20 September Minister of State Seán Kyne TD visited the marquee and emphasised the importance of the National Broadband Plan for those living and working in rural areas.
Thanks to our local authority colleagues Broadband Officers who were there to help us answer queries from members of the public. Their local knowledge and expertise was much appreciated.
