Ministers Naughten and Kyne with Mobile Phone and Broadband Taskforce Action Owners

‚ÄčThe Programme for a Partnership Government committed to the establishment of a Mobile Phone and Broadband Taskforce. This Taskforce was to established to:

  • identify solutions to broadband and mobile phone coverage deficits; and
  • investigate how better services could be provided to consumers prior to full build and rollout of the network planned under the National Broadband Plan State intervention (NBP).

The Taskforce published a report on December 20 2016, which set out 40 actions to alleviate barriers to improved mobile reception and broadband access. Minister Naughten and Minister Kyne have now published the Implementation Review 2017. This document is a comprehensive review of progress made, and includes a 2018 Work Programme.
