2015 Annual Review of the Emergency Call Answering Service (ECAS)

‚ÄčThe ECAS answers all calls to the EU Emergency Phone Numbers 112 or 999 and forwards calls to the relevant Emergency Service. The ECAS has answered over 14 million calls since it was launched in July 2010 and answered a total of 1,860,335 calls in 2015. The ECAS also provides an emergency text service (112SMS) for people with disabilities. Calls and texts to 112/999 are free of charge to the caller.
