My apologies, I would kindly request under the Freedom of Information Act 2014, to access public documents relating to Irish data on energy subsidies. Particularly in regard to the following subsidies (if possible): Expensing of Exploration and Developments Costs; the Capacity Payment Mechanism; VAT exemptions (for fossil fuels and renewable energy sources); Reduced VAT (for Petroleum); the CHP deployment Programme; Green Homes Scheme (for Solar, Biomass and Heat Pumps); The Ocean Energy Prototype Development Fund; Renewable Heat (ReHeat) Deployment Programme; BioEnergy Establishment Scheme; Wood Biomass Harvest Machinery Scheme; Corporate Tax Relief; Planning Permission Exemptions for Renewable Energy Technologies; Carbon Tax (on oil and natural gas); Public Service Obligation - Peat Stations; Alternative Energy Requirement (AER) Programme; Employment and Investment Incentive Scheme; R&D Tax Credit; and The Renewable Energy RD&D program.

Unfortunately I don't have specific documents in mind, as I have searched and come up with very little that seems pertinent to this study. However from my research these implemented energy subsidies are the areas of interest and where I require the data. I further request that if the DCCAE has any further recommendations of what subsidy policies I should follow up on, especially in regards to Energy Intensive Industry and Transport (the consumption of fuel).

Ms Patricia Cronin, Assistant Secretary, Department of Communications
On the specific points raised by Ms Forbes, under the Act, RTÉ has to get our permission. Before that, the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland has to carry out a review which is then sent to the Department and the Minister for a decision.

Seán Fleming Chairman
At what stage is the process?

Ms Patricia Cronin
It is with the BAI. Once it is finished, the review will come to us and the Minister who will make a decision on it.

The BAI say this is not true. Mr Philip Goodliffe of the BAI says that no such application has been received by the BAI.
